Designing our Seaside Collection

The Purebaby Summer 2024 collection is here! And this season we’re taking you to the Seaside, all summer long! Summer is the season of sun-kissed adventures, sandy toes, and endless laughter. Traditionally, Summer in Australia is beautiful and warm, sometimes even very hot. Because of this, some of us are lucky enough to spend a lot of time down by the beach and in coastal towns, as much as we can around our day-to-day lives. We believe in crafting clothing that not only looks adorable but also stands up to the energy and excitement of a child's summer. From rompers to dresses and t-shirts, our Seaside Collection is all about bringing the joy of the beach to your child's wardrobe.

Embracing the Seaside Spirit

For those of us blessed to live by the sea, this collection is inspired by simply that, the seaside lifestyle. The timeless charm of beach days and the vibrant life along the shore, playing on the beach, water activities and of course all of the magnificent sea animals we encounter along the way. These aspects of seaside living were the main inspiration for our newest summer collection.

Our design team spent months meticulously planning and creating each piece, ensuring that every item captures the essence of seaside fun. We wanted to reflect the bright colours of beach umbrellas, the playful patterns of seashells, and the calming hues of the ocean. Every stitch, button, and fabric choice was made with the seaside in mind, resulting in a collection that’s as refreshing as a cool ocean breeze.

As always, a huge amount of research and inspiration was conducted by our founder, Mirabai, and our dedicated design team. This included a visual process to bring the theme to life, through the development of many visual mood boards. That's when the magic really happens! From this step, the design team works together to develop our much loved hero animals of the season. For the Seaside collection this year, you will see our main characters are turtles, seagulls, dogs, jellyfish and octopus. From here, the team develops beautiful and unique graphics and prints to tell the story of these characters, and what we think they will get up to this summer!

Styles and fabrics to Celebrate Summer

Our Seaside Collection offers a variety of styles perfect for every summer adventure. Whether your little one is building sandcastles, chasing waves, or enjoying a beach picnic, we have the perfect outfit. Including a range of fresh styles, perfect for summer days, celebrations and occasions. 

Every fabric was chosen for its comfort and durability, ensuring it could withstand summer play. Fabrics this season include linen and crinkle cotton, these light weight fabrics will be your go-to on hot and humid days to keep little ones comfortable and cool.

The Purebaby signature detailing of beautiful prints and embroideries are sprinkled across styles in the collection. We also collaborated with a few artists this season to create unique, hand-drawn patterns of our beautiful seaside florals and other prints. Stay tuned for these collaborations throughout the season.

Our graphics depict some of our favourite and much loved summer time activities, building sand castles, surfing, and eating ice cream.

The colour palette for the collection is bright, full of coral and citrus hues, along classic navy, marine blue and faded denim. Complemented with earthy tones of oatmeal, sea greens and lilacs. Something for everyone this summer!
